That's my baby

As I watched from the open screen door, a rainshower swept quickly down the street like a party of scurrying bridesmaids - the black and white cat across the street dove for cover in a culvert. Then it was gone. Now the palms are dripping. And negative ions evaporate and dance off to the moon.

Today was the last day of hurricane season. A season with no hurricanes. I was on Sanibel Island when tropical storm Ernesto swept by south of here, sucking every vestage of cloudy weather off the island. The weather service attributed the reprieve to the influence of el nino - 'the baby.' Awesome baby.
