Make a comment, win a prize

AND THE WINNER IS...

Matt of Matterdays

Congratulations, Matt. And thank you to everyone for participating. Watch Hooky Beach for a rendering of Matt's poem.

As a winning alumnus of the first annual One World, One Heart Give-away! last year, courtesy of Gillian (forever young) The Spa Girl, it is my pleasure to "pay it forward," this year by sponsoring a prize of my own.

To enter, all you have to do is have a blog, and leave a comment right here.

The winning comment, selected at random by the Violets Are Blue random number generator, will be announced here on Valentine's Day, February 14.

Drum roll, please...

The winner will win a reading, by yours truly, of his/her favorite poem, emailed in MP3 format, along with a photographic interpretation of the poem, also by moi.

The only restrictions are that the poem be in English, clean, and not Paradise Lost (sonnet length or thereabouts, please).

Learn more about the One World, One Heart online festival here.

I am so there! Though being first, I'm almost certain not to win. Are you allowed to enter more than once?

Tell us more about the contest. What did you win last year?

Gillian @ Indigo Blue said...

Tell you what Patrick.
You can be number two, I'll switch with you. Being number one comes so naturally to me, I have no trouble switching. :D
Of course you know I'm kidding. Joe knows. We've met. (Rubbing it in.)
I think this prize is super cool, and very original. Way to go Joe. Last years win brought us closer together, so from that perspective the contest is brilliant.

I really, really, REALLY want to win this! To have you read me a poem ... my favourite poem ... and photopraphic illustration of the same would be the best Valentine gift ever! Even the thought of it tugs on my heartstrings.

Gillian, darling ... your day with Joe was a Valentine in itself.

(I'm off to research poems that would inspire nude interpretative dance.)

This is a wonderful and unique idea - I'd want the poem to be YOUR choice!
Also I hope you'll stop by giveaway too, ok so maybe you won't want a hand mirror but then again.....it could be a gift to someone.
either way, please add my name to yours!

Unique and wonderful; I have always loved poetry and have several classics on my sidebar. I also love photography, as one of my posts indicates and am wanting to get back into it. The photo you have posted is mysterious and evocative and shows great technique.
Thanks for this interesting offer to the giveaway. Please count me in!

As always, I just love what Cooper says and therefore I think I will let you off easy.

When I saw this offer I had to scream: Jeaux! Get OUTTA my brain! That email I sent you yesterday was PRE reading this. I was going through old emails (sorry, not just from you) and it occurred to me that I had not yet suggested an offering. You said you (and Blue?) were thinking of adding an occasional poetry corner to the postings. Yes? So I made my suggestion. And it stands. That is my favorite poem.

Blue, Honey---think you could slide back to #3? Be a dear, now, won't you. Thank you, Dahling. Thank you evuh so much.

Now off to Coop's!

Ciao, Baby.

Hello - Met you through Sheila. I don't enter a lot of giveaways but I am intrigued by this. I love "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T. S Elliott. Yes, I know it is long but you would not have to read it all. Just to see how you would illustrate it.

Cheezy though it may be, I'd have to choose Christopher Marlowe's "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love".

I wish I'd heard about this whole fabulous business a little sooner than today--I look forward to participating next time around!

The interesting thing about Matt's winning (Congratulations Matt!!!) is that, well really, we all win. We all get to hear that sultry seductive voice of yours. Can't wait for the posting.

I'm more than honored. But Blue, you're right - I get to pick the poem, but we all get to enjoy the sultry stylings of Herr Somewhere.

Still - I feel pretty. Oh so pretty.

Big congrats, Matt! I'm envious, but isn't it lovely that we get to enjoy your prize, too?! Stay pretty. :)
